To Begin:
How holy this feast, in which Christ is our food, his passion is recalled, grace fills our hearts and we receive a pledge of the glory to come.
You gave them bread from heaven to be their food, and this bread contained all goodness.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus Christ, you gave us the Eucharist as the memorial of your suffering and death. May our worship of this sacrament of your body and blood help us to experience the salvation you won for us and the peace of the kingdom where you live for ever and ever.

Spiritual Communion:
Lord Jesus, I believe you are really present in the sacrament of the Eucharist. I love you above all else, and I ardently desire to receive you into my soul. But since I cannot receive communion at this moment, come at least spiritually into my heart.
(pause for silent prayer)
As if I were receiving you in communion, I welcome and unite myself totally to you. Stay with me, Lord, and never let me leave you. |
